A lovely set of four small soup or salad bowls, in "Paynsley" Multicolour. They are superbly hand-painted in bold enamels on the green transfer pattern.

"Paynsley" is a well-known and lovely pattern, produced by Mason's from as early on as the 1930s. The pattern is now discontinued and sought after. The pottery mark puts these four bowls as being produced in the 1950s.
